Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We are working to ensure that our organisation more accurately represents those that live in our community

Diversity is our strength.

Wandsworth Lib Dems are committed to an inclusive and fairer society and value the diversity of our local community. We are working towards greater inclusion of people from different backgrounds at every level of our party. Each of us is different. Everyone comes with diverse backgrounds and experiences. All are welcome.

Currently we are engaged in promoting the greater inclusion of people from a greater diversity of backgrounds to be active in our party. We are also keen to reach out to individuals and community groups in Wandsworth to get their ideas and experiences about what is needed locally. Their views will contribute to our policy development which will aim is to improve and support the quality of residents lives and promote conditions where everyone whatever their background and situation have an opportunity to reach their full potential.

We celebrate the diversity of Wandsworth and believe that to contribute to the success of our local community we need to respect the ideas and perspectives different residents have in order to better work together to achieve shared objectives.

As part of the initial process of engaging with people from diverse backgrounds I have written a draft statement on diversity, difference, and inclusion for Wandsworth Lib Dems. This is a draft working document. I would very much value your comments not only on the statement but also how we can put our values into action.
