About James SandbachLiberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Putney
Local campaigner James Sandbach is the Liberal Democrat's prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency of Putney, Roehampton & Southfields at the next general election - he will be taking on Justine Greening MP and Labour candidate Stuart King in an election that will determine the country's future. James has been involved with the Lib Dems since university and has previously worked with several Members of Parliament. He is particularly interested in housing, education and social services. A lawyer and consumer rights champion he has worked for various non-governmental organisations in campaigning, lobbying and research roles. James currently works for Citizens Advice, where he leads on legal and justice issues. He also holds a PhD from the University of Westminster in international relations. Following his selection at a meeting attended by local party members, James said: "I'm delighted to be taking up the fight here for residents," "Putney needs an alternative to the failed two party politics which have brought us recession and sloppy public services." "My aim is to stand up for the people of Putney and Southfields and give them a strong voice in Westminster." "The local Liberal Democrat team has seen an amazing increase in support here over the last couple of years and I'm confident we can provide local voters with a real alternative.
